Product description
Fugalite® Bio is a water-based hypo-allergenic resin designed for waterproof, stain-proof, and silk-effect grouting of porcelain tiles, natural stones, and glass mosaics. Dermatologically tested and certified as hypoallergenic, it ensures aesthetic and functional continuity across grouted surfaces. Available in 24 natural shades, Fugalite® Bio is suitable for both internal and external applications, providing UV resistance and color stability.
Key Features:
- UV Resistant: Maintains color and integrity under exposure to sunlight.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for both flooring and walls, in interior and exterior settings.
- Waterproof: Exhibits a drop effect, making it non-absorbent and resistant to color changes.
- Bacteriostatic: Prevents the growth of bacteria and mold, tested by CSTB.
- Stain-Proof: Easy to clean, with high resistance to staining, as tested by the Italian Ceramic Centre.
- HACCP Compliant: Meets EU regulations for food hygiene, making it suitable for food-related environments.
- Marine Approved: Suitable for use in marine environments.
Areas of Application:
- Grouting joints from 0 to 5 mm wide with high chemical and mechanical resistance.
- Bonding of glass mosaics.
- Ideal for a variety of materials including porcelain tiles, low thickness slabs, ceramic tiles, klinker, cotto, glass, natural stone, recomposed materials, and marble.
- Suitable for internal and external use in domestic, commercial, industrial, and street furniture applications.
- Perfect for environments with heavy traffic, exposure to chemicals, swimming pools, thermal baths, fountains, heated floors, and areas subject to thermal shock and freezing.
Instructions for Use:
-
Preparation of Substrates:
- Ensure tiles are properly laid and anchored, with substrates fully dry and free from moisture.
- Grout joints after the recommended waiting time for the adhesive used, ensuring joints are clean and even in depth.
- Avoid using on joints wider than 5 mm, porous flooring requiring specific chemical resistance, or elastic joints.
-
Mixing:
- Mix components A and B thoroughly using a low-speed helicoidal agitator until a smooth, even-colored mixture is achieved.
- The mixture remains workable for approximately 45 minutes at +23°C.
-
Application as Grout:
- Apply Fugalite® Bio evenly with a hard rubber spreader, filling joints completely.
- Remove excess grout immediately with the spreader, leaving a thin film on the tiles.
- Perform initial cleaning while the grout is fresh using a damp cellulose sponge or abrasive felt pad.
- For structured surfaces, use an abrasive felt pad for the first pass, followed by a finishing pass with a cellulose sponge.
-
Cleaning:
- Immediate Cleaning: Use Fuga-Wash Eco in the cleaning water for better results. Replace the sponge frequently.
- Next-Day Cleaning: Remove any residual dirt or streaks with Fuga-Soap Eco, adjusting dilution based on the amount of grout residue.
- Special Cleaning: After 7 days, remove hardened residue with Fuga-Shock Eco.
-
Application as Adhesive for Glass Mosaic:
- Prepare the substrate to ensure it is compact, solid, dry, and free from dust, oil, and grease.
- Apply Fugalite® Bio with a toothed spreader, adjusting the thickness as required. Press down the mosaic pieces with a rubber-coated spreader for maximum coverage.
Special Notes:
- To improve slide during low-temperature applications, dilute the product with up to 2% clean water.
- Adding Fuga-Wash Eco to the cleaning water enhances detergent action and improves the surface finish without the need for rinsing.
Fugalite® Bio by Kerakoll is a high-performance, environmentally-friendly grout and adhesive solution designed to meet the demands of modern tiling applications, ensuring both durability and aesthetic excellence.
